Need help with your Swiss bank account? Visit http://www.swiss-banking-lawyers.com Legal problems are emerging unexpectedly. Often immediate action is required. You are in a difficult situation because urgency. To find an expert in a short time can be stressful and risky. If you do not have friends referring you to an experienced Swiss lawyer or if you don’t want to involve friends with your legal issue in Switzerland, you have to do your research online - on the internet. Hi, here is Enzo Caputo with swiss-banking lawyers.com Search for a specialist. You need an expert in his area and not a lawyer offering everything. Banking regulation is changing all the time. A good lawyer cannot be an expert in all areas of law. If you have a problem with your Swiss bank, verify if your lawyer has worked for a Swiss bank previously starting his practice. The professional experience made in a Swiss bank means insider know-how. He must know the banking business from the inside perspective of the bank. Check if he worked, at least, five years for a Swiss bank, in the legal department. Ask him, what type of cases he managed when he worked for the bank. It’s important that your lawyer is familiar with the tricks and pitfalls common in the Swiss private banking industry. Many international lawyers never worked in a bank before. As a consequence of the bilateral agreements signed by Switzerland with the EU, there are many lawyers without Swiss education. Make sure that your lawyer has a Swiss education. If your lawyer should obtain a fast and practical solution for you, it is imperative that he has made the professional experience with a Swiss bank. Your lawyer should be multilingual, multi-cultural and international to have the right mindset to resolve your case. Be careful with big law firms. Many big law firms are on the payroll of the powerful Swiss banks. Ask which lawyer is managing your case from A to Z. In big law firms - the senior lawyer will first listen to your problem, but after he will disappear from the scene forever. I strongly recommend verifying the CV of your lawyer. He’s professional experience will have a direct impact on the result of your case. A president of a listed company in Germany told me many years ago: I never take an advice of a lawyer seriously, unless he has white hairs.” He was right. If you need help in finding a specialized lawyer, pick up the phone and give me a call on +41 44 212 44 04. Be rich and remain rich. Various of people casting ballots STORYLINE: In a referendum cheered by animal rights activists, Swiss voters are deciding whether to appoint special lawyers for animals that have been abused by humans. If passed, the vote would extend a system already in place in Zurich to all of Switzerland''s 26 cantons (states). Antoine F. Goetschel, Europe''s only animal lawyer, says approving the proposal would ensure that abused animals are properly represented in court and those who hurt them would receive appropriate punishment. Opponents, including the government, say existing laws are sufficient and appointing lawyers for animals would incur unnecessary costs for taxpayers. Switzerland already has some of the toughest animal protection laws in the world. keyword animals You can license this story through AP Archive: http://www.aparchive.com/metadata/youtube/bcc011bfe8db8e4db2c64e687496244c Find out more about AP Archive: http://www.aparchive.com/HowWeWork

English/Nat Switzerland gave the American, British and French Allies around 60 million dollars of Nazi gold to help pay for the reconstruction of Europe after the Second World War - according to documents just revealed. Jewish groups say this is just a fraction of the hoard which belongs to them - stolen from Jews in Germany before and during the war. The documents reveal that more than four billion dollars worth of gold was shipped by the German Reichsbank to Switzerland during the war. These Swiss banks have traditionally closed their doors to any attempt to investigate their notoriously secret accounts. Now it has been revealed they made a very secret deal with the victorious Western Allies after World War II which allowed them to keep millions of dollars worth of gold. Jewish groups claim they concealed the theft and were permitted to get away with it, because of British fears that if they forced the issue, Swiss loans to their war-ravaged country would not be forthcoming. In a new spirit of openness, the Swiss banks are now cooperating with the World Jewish Congress. External auditors are to be allowed full access to all banking records. However a Swiss lawyer acting for many of the claimants says the task is a massive one - not least because of the difficulty in tracing who deposited the money. SOUNDBITE: English The problem is with names - you don't know with what name, or what code, or what fantasy name accounts existed. Did the person who put it here put it in his own name or a fantasy name or code or did he give it to a Swiss cousin, attorney or somebody else to do it? That's the first problem - second problem is the time that has gone by. If an account is still there the old account opening form should also be there - but as result of the time that has gone by - fifty years - with computerisation in the meantime I hear, although unofficially from various banks we may not have these documents any more. SUPER CAPTION: Dr Herbert Winter, lawyer The World Jewish Council believe the Swiss banks want to clear their name by being seen to open their system up to scrutiny. SOUNDBITE: English I think they hope it will enhance their reputation because they will now be dealing with this question honourably and honestly and we hope so too because we will get back what is ours and they will get back the reputation which belongs to them. That will be basically a win-win situation - if anything short of that happens it's basically a lose-lose for everybody and that's something we don't want. SUPER CAPTION: Israel Singer, World Jewish Congress Avraham Burg, of the Jewish World Agency is one of the most vehement campaigners on behalf of Holocaust victims. SOUNDBITE: English We represent all of those individuals, collectives, communities, leaders who cannot be with us today because 50 and 60 years ago one third of our people was destroyed, killed and disappeared in the Holocaust. And the second element is a question of basic economical morality. There is no reason in the world why one dollar, one sheckel, one sterling, one franc will be there in the safes and the accounts of banks at a time that it does not belong to them. Every single coin that belongs to the Jews should go back to the individual Jews and the Jewish people. SUPER CAPTION: Avaraham Burg, World Jewish Agency Hannah Greenberg's parents were killed in concentration camps. She survived and came to live in Scotland. Although she now only has photographs to remind her of her parents, she does remember her father telling her of a large dowry waiting for her in Switzerland. Credit Suisse is up against a $10 billion lawsuit from New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman over its alleged role in the sale of fraudulent mortgage-backed securities in the years leading up to the financial crisis, but says it will fight the case, according to a Reuters report. The investment bank said on Monday that it will fight the case. Other banks have been sued for fraud involving mortgage-backed securities, including JPMorgan Chase, which agreed to a $13 billion settlement with the Department of Justice last year. Some $613 million of that settlement went to New York State. Citigroup paid $7 billion in fines last summer and Bank of America paid almost $17 billion to federal and state authorities involving fraudulent mortgage back security sales back in August. Shares of Credit Suisse are trading down about 1.3% at $25.62 per share.
